i'm in l.a. this week and there is no shortage of things to photograph. this image is from venice beach taken yesterday afternoon, the light was great and the freaks were out. we had a blast.

pints for prostates

did you know that each year, more than 186,000 men learn they have prostate cancer and that it is the second most common type of cancer among men in this country? pints for prostates is an organization that uses the universal language of beer to raise awareness among men to be tested regularly.

on wednesday, june 16th the pike brewing company will be hosting a public benefit from 6-9pm that will have educational booths and a silent auction. the auction will contain beer, wine and hotel packages from local seattle business (pretty cool). also, the brewery opens at 11am and will be donating 20% of all pint purchases towards the pints for prostates cause and research. i know i will be stopping by for a pint. hope to see you there.

green lake

a beautiful sunrise was my reward for heading to the studio earlier than usual. we had a spent the night in woodinville which is a town just north of seattle known for their wine. i had an early call time on a monday morning and was not sure how long it would take me to get downtown. i ended up getting to the city much earlier than expected and used my time to enjoy a beautiful sunrise at green lake. i figured a walk around the lake was the least i could do for my two malamutes (moots) that were going to be hanging out at the studio all day. i'm pretty sure they wish i would make this a habit.

we ended up in westport wa today in search of the ocean. westport is a tiny town, it mainly caters to the fishing community and there is also a surf break. the main street was being repaved and most of the shops were closed but it was our first trip to the coast and we had fun. i'm looking forward to future trips to ocean as the weather gets warmer.

i'm back from a week long blog break with a new blog and some new work. i really enjoyed sharing some my peru pictures with you, but am back to showing what is going on in my day to day.

i have been experimenting a lot lately with 2-d techniques and using a less traditional subjects to create dynamic images that satisfy my sense of design.
