photography masters cup

two of my images won honorable mentions and four others were nominated at this years photography masters cup which is also known as the color awards.

this year there were 8,521 entries from 86 countries. both of the winning images were for projects for the seattle met and were styled by jean galton and art directed by andré mora. in addition to these winners i had another image nominated in the food category and three more in the still life category.

international photography awards

some of my images received honorable mentions at this years international photography awards. the awards were comprised of over 10,000 entries from over 80 countries. it was my first year entering the awards and it was pretty exciting to see my name next to some of the biggest in the industry. 

my awards were in the following categories: advertising food - for the bloody mary series, 

advertising self-promotion - for the organized office supplies and fine art: still life - for the aged french oak series, the fall leaves and the dead hydrangea's

color awards

i am honored to announce that my work has been recognized by the international color awards; also know as the masters cup. i placed third in both the food and silhouette categories. both of the images that won are part of my ongoing body of personal work. in addition to placing third, two other images were nominated in the food category; one from my 2-d pie series and the other from the seattle metropolitan magazine's 'best of asian restaurants' issue, with art direction credited to benjamin purvis.

to do so well against some of the biggest names in the industry within their respected disciplines has been an exciting and humbling experience. congratulations to all.

congratulations rob lewis on your gold award for the kooiman photography branding at this years art directors club of denver. rob is not only a highly talented designer and art director but also a close friend and overall good guy. his motor city roots are apparent in the work he has done for ford motor company via JWT and the current work he is doing for polaris over at the integer group. rob not only provided me with the slickest branding alive (no offense apple) but also pointed me in the direction of who to use to produce my project. don't just take it from me though, be sure to check out his work on his website: www.roblewisdesign.com
